Nordost are extremely concerned that consumers are being sold counterfeit
cables without their knowledge. These cables carry no warranty, and may be
significantly inferior in sonic ability.
A genuine Nordost cable will comply with all points below.
Mains
- Nordost power cables are a minimum of 2m in length, and are not available in
half metres.
- There should be a product name heat shrink eg.'Valhalla' at the mains plug
end, and a 'Nordost' heat shrink at the IEC end.
- Brahma & Valhalla both have serial numbers.
- The Brahma's is heat shrunk on at the mains plug end and is comprised of a
'B' then 4 digits, eg. 'B0323'.
- The Valhalla's is on the Wattgate 350 IEC and comprises of 6 digits, eg.
'324752'.
Interconnects
- Nordost interconnects are available in 0.6m, 1m, and in longer half metre
denominations.
- There should be a 'Nordost' heat shrink at the source end, and the product name eg. 'Baldur' at the receiving end.
- Baldur, Heimdall, Frey, Tyr & Valhalla all have serial numbers.
- These will be attached to the source end, these comprise of an 'R' then 5
digits, eg. 'R01659'.
Speaker Cables
- Nordost speaker cables are available in half meter denominations eg. 2.5m.
- They should have a product name eg. 'Red Dawn' heat shrink at the amp end, and
a 'Nordost' at the speaker end.
- or
- They should have a 'Nordost' heat shrink at the amp end, and a 'Flatline'
heat shrink at the speaker end.
- Baldur, Heimdall, Frey, Tyr & Valhalla all have serial numbers.
- These will be heat shrunk at the source end and comprise of 5 digits, eg.
'50143'.
- ANY THIRD PARTY TERMINATIONS WILL INVALIDATE YOUR NORDOST LIMITED LIFETIME
